August Afternoon

This post reaches back into my archives to a painting from twenty-two years ago. It depicts the street in Laurel, Maryland where I lived at the time, and a 1959 Buick that I owned back then. This canvas has hung on display in every house I've lived in since it was created.

Joshua Tree #14

This large canvas was one of the last works in the Joshua Tree series I painted between 2015 and 2018. It's also one of my personal favorites.

Farm in Summer

This is one of several small landscapes I painted last summer depicting scenes in rural Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. "Farm in Summer." Oil on canvas, 10 x 20 inches. Completed August 2018.

Panorama Sunset Study #1, #2, #3, and #4

I completed these sunset studies back in 2015, painting all four of them within an hour. They are based on a sunset I witnessed at Panorama Overlook near where my father lives outside Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

At the Edge

This canvas is the first painting I have produced based on my trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota and Badlands National Park. It is currently the cover art for my website, http://kennetheugenepeters.com/

View from Biltmore #1 and #2

These small, quick studies depict the view from Biltmore (George Washington Vanderbilt's Asheville, North Carolina, estate) on a sunny summer day. They're based on a trip taken there in July 2015 but were painted three years later.

Cadillac Beach

This is the second painting recently completed in a new series I'm working on that I call "Carscapes."

Skyscape with Chrysler

This is a recent canvas painted at the end of last year. I've already posted it to Instagram, so I thought I'd add it here as well. Based on a prairie image from my trip to South Dakota.

Red Barn in Snow

This small canvas, painted last fall as a cover for some special Christmas cards I send out to family and friends, seems appropriate for January as well. The barn stands near my father's home in West Virginia.
